Walking Iris

Joe's Nana Mott had one of these - I remember it on her back deck.  I regret not getting a cutting of it when she died.  A gardening friend gave me this one - which has now multiplied & fills several hanging pots.  This is a great pass-along plant, because much like a spider plant, it drops many new plantlets than can be easily rooted.

The bloom lasts only one day.  Here's one popping open:

I love seeing your flowers and garden (via blog, so far!!). I put in 3 3# packages of bees Easter Sunday, so now I have 4 hives! Hope to keep all these through the next winter!!
happy day!! ;0)

Jennifer I'll start you a pot of them tomorrow! I've just pruned one & have lots of little plantlets sitting on the table now. I'll be in Wildwood the first week of June. Maybe a lunch date while I'm home?

Kathy - are y'all coming to the fish fry? Would love to have you over - we've done so much - juggling three gardens right now!
