Outside today

"Thornbird" variety iris blooming up in the garden.

The robins fledged this afternoon... this little guy landed on the back of the rocker on the front porch long enough for this shot. The young cardinals in the tea olive out back fledged yesterday. We also have nesting chickadees, yellow-shafted flickers, brown thrashers, & house wrens... all within feet of the house. Entertainment for us bird nerds! :)

Busy weekend

Levi was a real social butterfly over the weekend - out to several parties, the Forestry School's wildlife supper on Saturday, & a wedding celebration. He took it quite well & met all sorts of new folks. Our friends Nick & Natalie were in town from Alaska for the wedding - they got to see Levi for the first time.

Seeing himself in a mirror...

Levi has found himself in the mirror that's on the backside of the arm that holds his mobile up.

I wear Levi quite a bit around the house in a sling, especially when I'm on the move doing housework, he likes being near me & there's always something new for him to watch.

Traveling

Back home... we've been out-of-town 10 of the last 12 days. So, taking it easy today, working on unpacking. It froze here while we were gone, a really late freeze that knocked out all our blooming azaleas & lots of other tender growth around the yard. Some pictures from our trips... Wildwood & Jennings

On the road

Greetings from Wildwood! Levi & I have had quite a trip... but are missing Joe! Levi has met many new folks including his great Aunt Marjorie & Uncle Frank, and his third cousins on Joe's side... the Ponder's (small world huh? Joe & I both have relatives up here in Dade county).

We've got a full day planned for tomorrow, so many things I want to do before we head east again... I always feel like I need "another day" to do & see it all! We'll post some pics as soon as we get a chance.
