Midway, Georgia visit

Midway is the next town south of us from Richmond Hill. It was first settled in 1754 & though history rich, is a very small sleepy town these days - (whereas it's sister city to the north, Savannah thrived & is comparatively huge now). We went Sunday & roamed around this very old graveyard.

Levi brought gloves & a ball in case we needed to take a break.

an ancient & partially hollow live oak

the script of the writing & graphic at the top would make a cool rubbing
also of note - a fair number of headstones were made of this dark slate

I thought this very interesting: Mary 'consort' of Samuel. Date of death 1845, 78 years old.
